It takes exceptional facilities and technological tools to ensure outstanding research, education, and patient care. One of the top priorities of the Keck Medicine Initiative is the construction of urgently needed buildings:
- a new research building to support basic and translational research,
- a new Interdisciplinary Education Building to serve as the hub of the Keck School of Medicine, and
- the USC Center for Advanced Medicine outpatient facility.
The buildings are part of a recently adopted master plan for the Health Sciences campus, which is in the midst of a dramatic metamorphosis designed to capitalize on the emerging opportunities of the revolution in biomedicine and health. The master plan emphasizes the importance of additional space for state-of-the-art laboratories that support translational work as well as basic research. Ultimately, we are committed to building facilities and infrastructure that will support seminal research breakthroughs and hasten those discoveries into life-saving clinical applications. Outstanding facilities are essential to our efforts to recruit the best and brightest students, faculty, scientists, and staff to join us in the effort to transform health, now and for many years to come.
In addition, new residential housing and amenities are being planned to ensure that Keck Medicine of USC always provides a congenial environment for students, faculty, staff, medical residents, and physicians, as well as for patients and their families. The modernization and beautification of the entire environment will complete the picture, making the Health Sciences campus welcoming, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to navigate.
